RULES AND EQUIPMENT OF INLINE HOCKEY

Rules:

Rules of inline hockey can be differed by the sanctioning body. A latest version of the rules is posted by the USA Hockey Inline on its official rules site in USA.  In short, each team consists of a defense man, a goalie, and three forwards along with a left and right wing with a center. If the puck/ball is gone out of the play or a goal is shot, or timeout, and in case of penalties, the play is halted.

Equipments:

A hockey helmet approved by the CSA or HECC is used a protective accessory, along with a hockey gloves, full mask, shin guards, and elbow pads. A jock is also used as protective guard.

The inline hockey skate differs from normal inline skates in the following manners:

  1. To fit the stress that halts the skates, the chassis are made up of metals and are not of plastics.
  2. There are no brakes in inline hockey skates.
  3. The stop is acquired at low speeds that involve the process to drag one skate across the surface of play.
  4. An inline hockey skate is considered as a popular design, if the back of the skate contain larger wheel than the front. This is assumed to increase the speed where the back wheels are mostly in use, and to turn also while the front wheels are mostly in the play.

Inline Hockey Sticks:

The stick that serves the ice hockey is similar to those used in the inline hockey.  The blade material discovered for outdoor surfaces may not be suitable for inline hockey.
